Applications: ELVIL - the European Legislative Virtual Library

The following information is very out of date: it is taken more or less verbatim from Appendix D of version 0.3b of the profile, which dates back to July 1999.

The ELVIL project aims to provide common access to the parliamentary databases of the European member states as well as the European Parliament itself, together with an educational framework to enable comparative studies of European legislation. Zthes is used to provide a common, subject-browsing mechanism across multi-lingual databases using the international EUROVOC thesaurus.
